Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at River Mead School in Melksham. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our students, particularly those with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning and delivery, providing individualized support to students as needed
  • Work with small groups of students to develop their physical, intellectual, emotional, and social skills
  • Prepare and adapt teaching aids, games, and worksheets to support student learning
  • Meet the pastoral needs of students, providing praise, comfort, encouragement, reassurance, and care
  • Take responsibility for the welfare and hygiene of students, including administering first aid and medication as needed
Requirements
  • Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent experience
  • First Aid training or willingness to undertake training
  • Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other support staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
