We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our close-knit Investment Engineering team at Mccabe & Barton, a leading investment manager with a strong reputation for delivering innovative financial solutions to pension schemes and long-term savings clients.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and implementing software applications to support investment operations. Your expertise will be crucial in delivering high-quality, resilient solutions that meet the business needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop portfolio management systems and internal tools to support investment operations
  • Work across the stack using technologies like React (frontend) and Python (back-end) to deliver scalable and efficient solutions
  • Develop REST/GraphQL services and ETL/ELT data pipelines to integrate new data sources and improve existing applications
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver pragmatic technical solutions
  • Contribute to the full software development lifecycle and ensure code reliability through testing
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous learning within the team

Technical Requirements:

  • 5+ years of full-stack development experience in Python
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with React and Redux (1+ years preferred)
  • Experience with ETL pipelines and containerization (Docker)
  • Commercial experience in finance or investment management is a plus
