Senior Planner Civils Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Planner to join our team at Anderselite Ltd, a leading national and international Civil Engineering company based in the North West. As a Senior Planner, you will play a key role in leading our planning capabilities and working on high-profile civil engineering projects.

The Role
  • Develop and manage project schedules, tenders, and associated breakdown structures to ensure timely delivery and effective resource allocation.
  • Provide expert planning advice on civil engineering projects, including highways, drainage, and bridge schemes, to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain the process and framework used to define, maintain, report, and control schedules, identify interfaces, and promote milestone definition sheets.
  • Ensure consistent application and effective delivery of time management across all projects.
  • Carry out critical path and earned value analysis to produce reports and inform proactive decision-making and risk mitigation.
  • Work closely with the Risk and Cost teams to develop summary schedules and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Provide presentations, coaching, and facilitation in the use of planning software to support team members in their roles.
  • Provide guidance and undertake earned value analysis to inform proactive decision-making and risk mitigation.
  • Complete and close out schedule activities to capture as-built data for time and cost benchmarking.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable background in civil engineering planning at senior planner or planning manager level.
  • Experience of mentoring and developing junior planners.
  • Experience of the NEC and JCT forms of contract in planning.
  • Experience of working on projects £100m+ in value.
  • Experience of working on large infrastructure projects.
  • Previous tender experience.
  • Competence in using planning software, particularly P6, ASTA, and MS Project.
  • Section/site manager PM or similar background.
