Job Title: Site Engineer

Location: Northern Ireland
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £36,000 – £38,000 per annum (package includes company van)

Blackfox Solutions are working with a dynamic construction company based in Northern Ireland, seeking a skilled Site Engineer to manage on-site aspects of road surfacing projects. This role involves ensuring all works are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently to a high standard. The successful candidate will work closely with the Contracts Manager and Supervisors to coordinate works, monitor progress, and maintain quality control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, supervise, and coordinate on-site activities, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards.
• Manage staff and resources to optimize project performance.
• Devise and implement traffic management plans.
• Monitor daily progress and provide reports aligned with the works schedule.
• Measure works on-site to assist with pricing and tender preparation.
• Provide technical support, identifying and addressing any issues during the project.
• Ensure adherence to Safety Management Systems, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and site audits to promote safety.
• Liaise with clients and statutory bodies to ensure smooth project delivery.

Requirements:

• Third Level Qualification in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year's experience as a Site Engineer in the civil engineering sector.
• Experience in the road surfacing industry is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and techniques, with a focus on groundworks.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Valid UK Driving License required.
