Job Purpose:

The Multi-Skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing both electrical and mechanical production machinery and equipment. This role is vital for ensuring minimal downtime and maximizing the efficiency of the manufacturing process.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine and urgent maintenance on electrical systems and production machinery to ensure continuous operation.
  • Troubleshooting: Quickly identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues to minimize production interruptions.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Execute and manage preventative maintenance schedules, with a strong focus on electrical systems, to prevent equipment failures and improve reliability.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety standards, particularly electrical safety regulations, creating a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Documentation: Keep detailed records of all maintenance work, including electrical repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Experience: Demonstrated experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong emphasis on electrical systems, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Skills: Expertise in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting, with strong mechanical skills to complement.
  • Qualifications: Relevant engineering certifications, such as NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance, focusing on electrical systems.
  • Degree: A degree or advanced certification in Electrical Engineering is highly desirable.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work shifts and handle emergency maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a focus on quick and effective resolutions.
