Autism Support Worker Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Worker to join our team at Protocol Education. As an Autism Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism in a dynamic and inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group support to students with autism, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized Education Healthcare Plans (EHCPs).
  • Assist students with daily routines, including managing their schedules and providing behavioral support.
  • Facilitate students' engagement with classwork and daily activities, promoting their participation and inclusion.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, ensuring a supportive and nurturing environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with autism or special educational needs is desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, with a patient and empathetic approach.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
