Job Summary

The company, a leading test and inspection organization, is seeking a Graduate Test Engineer to join their team at their purpose-built testing facility in Northamptonshire. As a Graduate Test Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that tests run smoothly and successfully, and are recorded with high levels of accuracy and to correct standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shadow experienced Test Engineers across the AM, Day, or PM shift for 2-4 months before moving to the Night shift.
  • Design instrumentation required and control strategy for each test.
  • Report testing project status to the Project Manager or Lab Supervisor.
  • Carry out tests set-ups and test execution, with support from a Test Technician.
  • Creation of test project reports.
  • Monitor and identify correct operation of test equipment, cables, and report failures.
  • Monitor needs for lab equipment and report to the Laboratory Supervisor for acquisition.

Requirements

  • A relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering, such as Automotive, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working on a night shift as the sole Technician.

Benefits

Working Hours

Night shift hours are 8:30pm – 6:45am Monday to Wednesday and 8:30pm – 6:35am Thursday, with a 50-minute break.
