Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Power Engineer to join our team at CV Library. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the HV Non-Traction Power System discipline, providing technical expertise and advice to both internal stakeholders and external partners. Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the upholding and development of requirements, specifications, and standards for the HV Non-Traction Power System;
  2. Provide technical expertise and advice relating to the HV Non-Traction Power System to both the wider organisation and external stakeholders as required;
  3. Assure that the design for the HV Non-Traction Power System on the HS2 Railway is configured and installed in accordance with standards and technical requirements;
  4. Support the Head of HV Systems Engineering in engaging and consulting as appropriate with internal teams impacted by HV Non-Traction design;
  5. Support the definition and the management of interfaces between the HV Non-Traction Power System and other infrastructure systems;
  6. Ensure that HS2 Technical Governance arrangements are followed;
  7. Develop and implement the use of best practice and innovative engineering techniques, technologies, and processes;
  8. Actively promote and embed Equality and Diversity (EDI) in all your work;
Requirements

You will be an experienced HV Non-Traction Power Engineer with a strong understanding of the railway industry and its systems. You will have a proven track record of leading technical teams and providing expert advice to stakeholders. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Skills
  1. Strong technical knowledge of HV Non-Traction Power Systems;
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  3. Ability to lead technical teams and provide expert advice to stakeholders;
  4. Strong understanding of the railway industry and its systems;
  5. Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
Knowledge
  1. Applicable UK construction regulations including CDM requirements;
  2. The application of the Common Safety Method (CSM) for risk evaluation and assessment;
  3. Understanding of the Regulatory/Legislative Framework;
  4. Commercial awareness including understanding of cost delivery, schedule targets and the need to deliver an integrated solution that meets all functional requirements;
  5. Understanding of other Railway Systems disciplines and how they interface with the HV Non-Traction Power system;
