Major Recruitment Oldbury is seeking a skilled Operations Manager to oversee our client's waste management operations.

This role is crucial for managing the Mechanical Treatment Facility, Waste Transfer Station, and Recycling operations.

Position Overview:
This is a temporary role with the potential for extension. The Operations Manager will lead a dedicated team to ensure the facilities operate efficiently and safely, adhering to strict Health & Safety and Environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize your expertise in mechanical treatment and waste transfer processes to enhance sorting, shredding, compacting, and recycling operations.
  • Lead and motivate a diverse team, promoting a culture of collaboration and high performance.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure the seamless operation of complex technologies.
  • Address operational challenges effectively, using your problem-solving skills to maintain efficiency.
  • Prioritize team safety and compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Continuously seek improvements in processes to minimize waste and promote sustainability.
  • Manage budgets for the Mechanical Treatment Facility and Waste Transfer operations.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A strong background in waste management, particularly in mechanical treatment and recycling.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing diverse teams.
  • Experience in a managerial role within a process plant environment.
  • A relevant engineering qualification, preferably at degree or HND level.
  • WAMITAB COTC, level 4 certification (desirable).
  • A solid understanding of Health & Safety practices, ideally with a NEBOSH qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Financial management experience, with a focus on budget oversight and cost efficiency.
