The Role: Cable Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cable Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining and improving the fault response performance across our distribution network. You will be responsible for a range of tasks, including:

  • Fault Finding and Resolution: Identifying and resolving faults on the distribution network to minimize customer disruption.
  • Connection and Alteration Services: Connecting new supplies, making alterations to existing supplies, and restoring low-voltage (LV) supplies in accordance with central control directives.
  • Network Testing and Maintenance: Conducting tests on the LV network, interpreting results, and taking appropriate action. Performing routine inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability of our infrastructure.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervising excavating teams and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Cable Technician or in a similar role within the electrical distribution industry.
  • Strong understanding of LV network operations and fault diagnosis techniques.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
