About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Criminology Graduate to join our team as a Mental Health Support Assistant at Academics Ltd. As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable children who have been exposed to trauma and adverse childhood experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work one-to-one with students, as well as in wider groups, to promote their engagement, attainment, and life chances.
  • Prepare learning materials and check on the welfare of students to ensure their needs are met.
  • Help increase independent living skills and build strong, robust relationships with students.
  • Identify risks and needs of each child and ensure they meet milestones set for them.
What You'll Gain

This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a recent Graduate or someone with previous experience working with children to gain essential experience and skills. You will have the chance to work with a range of students, develop your knowledge of mental health and neurodiversity, and learn to identify the risks and needs of each child.

Requirements
  • Recent Criminology Graduate or equivalent experience working with children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for working with vulnerable children and supporting their mental health.
Working Arrangements

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am until 3:30 pm each day. We are looking for a Criminology Graduate who can start as soon as possible.
