Work Pattern: Shifts – 4 on 4 off with 5 x 18 day breaks per year

Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking a skilled Automation Specialist to join our Engineering Department at the Shotton Works site. As part of our succession planning strategy, we are looking for a talented individual to fill a number of Automation Technician positions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist engineering support to our manufacturing production lines.
  • Respond to plant breakdowns, diagnosing faults to ensure the line is running again as soon as possible.
  • Carry out design, software modifications, and improvements to the plant equipment while adhering to onsite software management systems.

Requirements:

  • Time served apprenticeship and educated to HNC level or above in an Electrical/Electronic/Instrumentation discipline.
  • A minimum of significant experience working in a similar role or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley Control/Compact Logix OR Siemens S7 PLC's is essential.
  • AC or DC Invertor drives, fault finding, commissioning, and programming.
  • Instrumentation knowledge, maintaining and fault finding control loops.
  • Some SCADA and HMI development experience.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Some knowledge of Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems.
