Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Biocompatibility Lead Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading biocompatibility evaluations within project teams, reviewing scientific data, and crafting test strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead biocompatibility evaluations within project teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Review scientific data and craft test strategies to ensure the biocompatibility of medical devices.
  • Manage test programs and influence project outcomes to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
  • Advise partners on toxicological risk assessments, chemical characterization, biological safety testing, and biocompatibility standards and regulations.
  • Support the delivery of designated projects by writing biological evaluation plans and reports, reviewing material and analytical data, and managing external contract testing programs.
  • Analyze analytical chemistry data and conduct toxicological risk assessments.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of medical device biocompatibility standards and make recommendations for updates to current methods and working practices.
  • Represent biocompatibility in audits and interactions with regulatory bodies.
  • Perform all activities in compliance with relevant GMP and Quality Systems and Occupational Health and Safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Education in a relevant field such as Biomedical Engineering, Biological Sciences, or Analytical Chemistry.
  • Experience in biocompatibility and/or toxicology is an advantage.
  • Work experience in a commercial environment where they have gained knowledge and experience of biocompatibility evaluation and testing.
  • Confidence in accurately analyzing data and making conclusions regarding the biocompatibility of medical devices.
