Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Speciality Doctor to join our team at the West of Scotland Heart & Lung Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

The successful candidate will have a strong interest in Cardiac Surgery, Transplant and Retrieval Surgery, and will be able to demonstrate a wide range of skills and experience in these areas. A strong background in cardiac surgery operating, post-operative cardiothoracic surgery critical care, and ward post cardiac surgery management is essential.

The post holder will be expected to work closely with Consultant Intensivists, Consultant Surgeons, and nurse practitioners to provide high-quality care to patients in the critical care areas and the ward. The successful applicant will also be expected to contribute strongly to the development of the department, enhancing aspects such as multidisciplinary meetings and patient flow.

The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A strong interest in Transplant and Retrieval Surgery is essential, and experience in cardiothoracic DBD and DCD Heart and Lung retrieval surgery, TransMedics OCS would be desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care in Cardiac Surgery, Transplant and Retrieval Surgery

Requirements:

  • Full GMC registration
  • Strong interest in Cardiac Surgery, Transplant and Retrieval Surgery
  • Wide range of skills and experience in cardiac surgery operating, post-operative cardiothoracic surgery critical care, and ward post cardiac surgery management
  • Strong background in cardiac surgery operating, post-operative cardiothoracic surgery critical care, and ward post cardiac surgery management
