Your Role

RWE is a leading renewables generator in the UK, driving a portfolio of clean and low-carbon power projects towards a net-zero future by 2040. As a key member of the UK Communications team and the International Media Relations team, you will develop and maintain the company's brand and reputation as a trusted partner to government and local communities. You will act as a spokesperson for RWE in the UK, covering all activities, including offshore wind, onshore wind, solar, batteries, flexible generation, and hydrogen.

Main Responsibilities

  1. You will proactively manage RWE's presence in the UK media by building relationships with key journalists and media outlets.
  2. You will develop and implement communications strategies to position RWE and its business activities in relevant media.
  3. You will position RWE's UK top management in the media through a successful media engagement strategy.
  4. You will formulate and edit press releases, official statements, speeches, and thought leadership pieces.
  5. You will plan and implement press conferences, press events, and interviews with executives and experts.
  6. You will respond to media enquiries and monitor media coverage.

Key Skills

  1. University degree in media, communication, journalism, economics, or humanities.
  2. Several years of experience as a press spokesperson in a sensitive media environment.
  3. Strong linguistic competence in English with a journalistic claim.
  4. Good awareness of media channels, including social and digital media.
  5. Ability to communicate complex energy-economic and energy-political contexts.
  6. Proven experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  7. Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
  8. Experience in international corporate environments is an advantage.
