Risk Management Director

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Director to join our Warhead Replacement team. As a key member of the Programme Lead, you will be responsible for advising on various types of risks, identifying potential threats, and creating and managing plans to prevent and mitigate problems that could affect delivering our mission.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Deliver a consolidated view of the total risk exposure for relevant projects and programmes
* Embed risk, opportunity, and issue process and support reporting cadence
* Assess, define, and analyse possible risks
* Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks
* Generate and maintain programme risk registers as required
* Actively manage risk and opportunity mitigation actions and burndown
* Facilitate the effective management and mitigation of the programme's risk exposure
* Provide strategic and tactical risk insight and thinking
* Assist Head of Risk to manage and maintain an end-to-end risk profile, presenting that risk profile in reports and governance processes

**Requirements**

* A background in risk management within a Systems Engineering environment
* Resilience and curiosity with attendant communication skills
* Understanding and acting on Risk mitigations that add value to overall programme objectives
* Constructively challenging stakeholders to understand risk and how to think about their risks differently in technical areas
* Fluidity of navigation between business and technical risk areas and show understanding of their connectivity

**Qualifications and Professional Memberships**

* Management of Risk (MOR) - or equivalent experience
* Project controls processes for planning, estimating, and cost-control
* Working with Risk Database software i.e. Active Risk Manager (ARM) etc.
* Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) software i.e. Safran and Primavera Risk Analysis (PRA)
