Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable Note Taker to provide academic support to a student with a visual impairment studying a degree at a higher education institution. The successful candidate will be responsible for electronically taking notes in lectures, seminars, and tutorials, and assisting the student to access support on and around campus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take accurate and legible electronic notes in lectures, seminars, and tutorials
  • Assist the student to access support on and around campus
  • Work in a professional, helpful, and flexible manner, maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • Hand over notes in the agreed format within 24 hours of the lecture taking place
  • Manage paperwork effectively, including filling in timesheets accurately and promptly

Requirements

  • Hold a degree or relevant work experience
  • Be a proficient and accurate typist
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality at all times
