Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled VAT Accountant to join our team at Cameron Clarke Associates. As a VAT Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and filing VAT returns, reconciling sales and purchase invoices, and communicating with clients and HMRC.

About the Role: This is a full-time position, working 9-5 Monday to Thursday and 9-4 on Friday. You will be working in a dynamic environment with a team of qualified accountants, serving clients in the surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years' experience in a VAT/Bookkeeping position and strong knowledge of Xero and other accounting software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and filing of VAT returns using all VAT schemes
  • Reconciling sales invoices, purchase invoices, and bank accounts
  • Communicating with clients and HMRC via email and phone
  • VAT registrations
  • Other general bookkeeping to assist the accounts team
  • Assisting with HMRC VAT investigations
  • Communicating with HMRC when required

Requirements:

  • Minimum two years' experience in a VAT/Bookkeeping position
  • Strong knowledge in Xero and other accounting software
  • Strong IT skills
