Job Title: Culinary Expert

Thurrock Council is seeking a skilled Culinary Expert to join our team. As a key member of our catering service, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality food services to our schools and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and deliver excellent standard food services to our schools and staff
  • Cover and support the catering service across Thurrock as required
  • Promote the catering service and stay up-to-date with new products and legislation
  • Organize and manage the catering provision to ensure an efficient and cost-effective service
  • Order provisions, food preparation, and cooking in accordance with the recipe file and menu
  • Manage staff, including attendance and annual appraisals
  • Increase uptake and business growth
Requirements:
  • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food safety and hygiene
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends
