Job Title: Science Teaching Assistant (Secondary School)

Job Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Pay rate: £90 - £100 per day

About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant secondary school. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a school environment, working closely with the science department to support the delivery of engaging and effective science lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Classroom Support: Assist teachers in the preparation and delivery of science lessons across KS3 and KS4, ensuring students are fully engaged and supported in their learning.
  2. Individual and Group Support: Provide tailored support to students, both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their potential in science.
  3. Practical Demonstrations: Assist in setting up and supervising laboratory experiments and practical demonstrations, ensuring all health and safety protocols are followed.
  4. Resource Management: Help to organise and maintain science equipment and resources, ensuring that all materials are prepared and available for lessons.
  5. Enrichment Activities: Support the development and delivery of extracurricular science activities, such as science clubs, workshops, and field trips.

Requirements:

  1. Science Graduate: A degree in a science-related field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science) is essential.
  2. Passionate: A strong interest in education and a desire to inspire young people in the field of science.
  3. Desirable: Previous experience working with young people, either in a teaching, tutoring, or mentoring capacity, would be advantageous but is not essential.
