About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Public Health Manager to join our team at Gloucestershire County Council. As a key member of our Public Health and Communities Hub, you will play a vital role in leading the initiation and delivery of programmes of work to meet our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the commissioning of community and accommodation-based support services to improve outcomes for individuals experiencing multiple disadvantage.
  • Take the strategic lead on commissioning activity, enabling and influencing across the system to achieve agreed outcomes.
  • Contribute to improving outcomes for individuals experiencing multiple disadvantage.
  • Lead work to support the Hub's corporate responsibilities around finance, performance, and risk.
Requirements
  • Senior management or leadership experience gained in a commissioning environment.
  • Experience of working on the determinants of health, for example, housing, environmental health, health and social care, and/or public health.
  • Proven leadership skills, a track-record in building effective relationships with system partners and communities.
  • Skills and resilience to manage a complex, fast-paced workload.
  • Political awareness and credibility to represent the team within the Council and with external stakeholders.
