NHS Lothian is seeking a dedicated and passionate Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our South Edinburgh Older People's Community Mental Health Team.

We are a highly motivated and supportive team committed to providing person-centered care for older adults experiencing mental health challenges or dementia.

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of older adults' needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions to promote functional independence, enhance well-being, and support recovery.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, social workers, psychiatrists, and GPs.
  • Advocate for the needs of older adults and their families within the healthcare system.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of our services.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who:

  • Possesses a strong clinical foundation in mental health and geriatric care.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Is committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care.
  • Enjoys working collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Has a passion for making a positive difference in the lives of older adults.

This is a part-time position with a salary that will be pro-rata based on the agreed hours.
