Desmond Motors is looking for a skilled automotive technician to enhance our service department.

This position allows for flexibility, as experience with Ford vehicles is not a prerequisite. We welcome candidates with a background in various vehicle brands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Executing repairs on engines, gearboxes, brakes, and suspension systems.
  • Preparing vehicles for inspections.
  • Conducting thorough vehicle assessments.
  • Identifying and diagnosing mechanical issues.
  • Utilizing in-house systems and completing necessary documentation.
  • Advancing skills through training programs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in routine maintenance to ensure vehicle performance.
  • Ability to accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Experience with commercial vehicles is advantageous.
  • A valid driving license is preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • City & Guilds Automotive certification is preferred.
  • Consideration for 3rd and 4th-year apprenticeships is available.
  • Proficiency in IT is essential.
  • Experience in repairing and upgrading vehicle electronic systems.
  • Adherence to industry standards is expected.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Thursday: 9 am - 5:30 pm
  • Friday: 9 am - 4:30 pm
  • Weekends off.
  • Occasional late evenings may be necessary.
  • Bank holidays and Christmas are non-working days.
