Who You'll Be Supporting & Role Overview:

Are you looking for a career that offers variety and fulfillment? Do you enjoy working with people and aspire to make a genuine difference? This could be the perfect opportunity for you.

We are currently looking for caring, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individuals to join our team. This role involves supporting a young lady in living independently in her own home, following a personalized care and support plan tailored to her unique needs.

The individual we support has a mild learning disability and has recently been diagnosed with PTSD due to past trauma. Our staff team is trained in trauma-informed care, PTSD awareness, and skin integrity.

Our shifts typically start at 10 am and conclude at 10 am the following day, with sleepover shifts from 11 pm to 7 am. Due to the availability of a mobility vehicle, drivers are strongly preferred.

Maintaining a close relationship with family is crucial, and the individual enjoys community outings, including daily drives and walks. We seek support workers who can be patient, fostering confidence and independence through supervision and encouragement, while also being fun and engaging. Healthy eating and a varied diet are important aspects of her care. She has a fondness for animals and enjoys pampering activities.

There are numerous local activities available, such as visiting sensory centers, swimming, bowling, and cinema outings. The residence is located in a peaceful neighborhood with a garden to enjoy during pleasant weather. Parking is available, and a well-decorated staff sleepover room is provided.

It is essential to note that sometimes the individuals we support require a male or female support worker. For this specific role, a Female colleague is required, as defined by the Equality Act.

Your Values:

Prior experience in supporting individuals with complex needs is essential, as we are building a new team and seek Advanced Support Workers to share their expertise and knowledge.

Applicants with an SVQ 3 in Health and Social Care are highly desirable.
