Job Summary

Alexander Steele Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. As a Senior Quality Assurance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and food safety in our food factory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations into food safety and quality incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Manage and maintain internal audits of the site's operations, ensuring compliance with CCPs, hygiene, documentation, GMP, foreign bodies, glass, PPE, and allergens.
  • Work closely with Operations to investigate customer complaints, providing feedback to relevant teams and implementing corrective actions.
  • Manage micro and nutritional databases, reporting, investigating, escalating, and resolving issues.
  • Carry out routine quality assurance testing and monitoring throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring information on product quality is continually fed back.
  • Ensure processes and products throughout the factory and those leaving site comply with agreed specifications with regards to quality and food safety.
  • Assist the Quality Manager in maintaining the site's BRC certification and QMS, including tasks such as metal detection investigations and managing the barcode verifier.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in food manufacturing, with knowledge of BRC and Customers Codes of Practice.
  • Competent in MS Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Awareness of allergen controls.
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene and Level 2 HACCP qualifications (desirable but not essential).
  • Able to work on own initiative and possess excellent communication skills.
