Principal Architect / Chief Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Architect / Chief Engineer to lead our technology strategy and engineering practices at Oliver Bernard. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing system architecture, leading a team of Software Engineers & Architects, and working closely with our CTO to deliver technology solutions for our customers and clients.

This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned technology leader to have a genuine impact on the direction of our company. You will be the first Principal Architect / Chief Engineer to join our business and will be heavily involved in technical strategy, leadership, engineering practices, and system architecture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement system architecture for high-throughput, low-latency, mission-critical systems.
  • Lead a team of Software Engineers & Architects and provide technical guidance and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with our CTO to develop and implement effective software engineering practices and technologies.
  • Develop and maintain strong knowledge of Java OO Language, service-orientated architecture, enterprise messaging solutions, and relational database design.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technology trends and best practices, particularly with AWS / Amazon Web Services.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Principal Architect or Principal Engineer with a strong track record of designing system architecture.
  • Senior technology leadership experience, including Lead Solutions Architect, Senior Principal Engineer, or Senior Staff Engineer roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Java OO Language, service-orientated architecture, enterprise messaging solutions, and relational database design.
  • Expertise in Cloud technology, particularly with AWS / Amazon Web Services.
