Position Overview

This role presents a unique opportunity to engage in the oversight and administration of the Council's bus terminals and primary park & ride facilities. The public transport sector is currently navigating a period of recovery, and this vital position will contribute significantly to the revitalization and transformation of bus interchanges, influencing their future direction.

The selected candidate will support the Lead Consultant (Bus Network & Stations) in the management and functionality of the four Council-operated bus terminals and two main park & ride locations, ensuring adherence to established protocols and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the daily operations of the 13 bus station supervisors responsible for the four Council-owned bus terminals, while addressing urgent situations and shifting priorities.
  • Collaborating on the evaluation of practices and procedures within the bus interchange framework to enhance service delivery, customer satisfaction, and optimal resource utilization.
  • Investigating and addressing both internal and external inquiries, complaints, and correspondence related to the bus interchanges.
  • Assisting the Lead Consultant in ensuring compliance with current Health & Safety regulations at each bus interchange, while ensuring staff are informed of their responsibilities.
  • Authorizing and monitoring financial expenditures, as well as aiding the Lead Consultant with the bus interchange facilities budget, which exceeds £1 million, and providing data for budget estimates and spending plans.
  • Offering IT support to bus terminals, including the development, maintenance, and promotion of relevant systems.
  • Preparing invoice accounts on a four-week cycle for submission to each operator utilizing the bus terminals.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will have a background in either Passenger Transport (Planning and/or Operations) or Facilities Management. A minimum educational attainment of SCQF level 7 or equivalent experience is required.
