Exciting Opportunity for an Adult Psychiatry Middle Grade Doctor

We are seeking an ambitious Adult Psychiatry Middle Grade Doctor to join our team at the prestigious Avon & Wiltshire M Health Partnership NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills, work with a talented group of healthcare professionals, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

About the Role

As an Adult Psychiatry Middle Grade Doctor, you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with a range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, and psychosis. You will work closely with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and provide guidance and support to junior doctors and medical students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct new referral assessments, deliver therapy, and refer to psychology colleagues for relevant interventions
  • Formulate care and treatment plans, prescribe various types of treatment, and provide guidance on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness
  • Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information to explain a diagnosis and treatment options
  • Communicate with patients and the wider multidisciplinary team on shared patient decision making
  • Work in and where appropriate, lead a multidisciplinary team
  • Assess and prioritise patient/client requirements, delegating effectively to others
  • Recognise, review, and report a patient's condition and any changes to the patient and the multidisciplinary team
  • Perform basic administrative and clerical tasks, such as keeping records of test results, writing prescriptions, providing information to patients, and monitoring treatment plans
  • Help teach and train other junior doctors, medical students, and other multidisciplinary team members
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • MBChB (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) or equivalent
  • 6 months recent NHS experience within the last 3 years
