Job Overview:
The Logistics Coordinator will oversee the strategic planning and execution of transportation operations for goods moving within the UK and to international destinations.
This position demands a proactive individual with exceptional organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of export protocols, regulations, and necessary documentation.
The ideal candidate will guarantee that all shipments are executed efficiently, punctually, and in adherence to legal standards.Key Responsibilities: - Strategically plan and manage domestic and international shipments, ensuring optimal routing, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. - Collaborate with third-party logistics providers, suppliers, carriers, and freight forwarders to coordinate transport and manage shipping documentation. - Prepare and validate export documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin. - Monitor and track shipments, providing consistent updates to clients and addressing any issues that may arise during transit. - Ensure compliance with all applicable export regulations, customs requirements, and trade agreements. - Work closely with internal teams, such as sales, customer service, and warehousing, to facilitate seamless operations. - Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation providers to secure cost-effective solutions. - Maintain precise records of shipments, transport expenses, and client specifications. - Handle transport-related administrative duties, including data entry and reporting. - Contribute to the development and implementation of process enhancements to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Skills and Qualifications: - Demonstrated experience in transport planning, logistics, or a related field, with a focus on UK and export operations. - Extensive knowledge of international shipping processes, export regulations, and customs requirements. - Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering strong relationships. - Proficient in transport management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. - Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make informed decisions swiftly. - Attention to detail and accuracy in managing documentation. - Familiarity with Incoterms, international trade compliance, and freight forwarding processes is highly desirable. - Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. - A proactive and adaptable approach to work.
Education: - A degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. - Professional certifications in export or logistics management would be beneficial.
Working Hours: - Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, with occasional overtime as needed to meet business demands.
