Senior Propulsion Field Engineer/ Propulsion Field Service Engineer/Propulsion Service Technician

HSB Technical Ltd is a specialist recruiter within the Power & Propulsion, Shipbuilding, Shipping & Energy and Aerospace sectors. We have a number of permanent and contract vacancies for multiple businesses across the UK and overseas.

Job Summary

This role involves performing and leading maintenance and repairs on main propulsion systems, thrusters, and steering gear, as well as troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in dismantling, inspecting, rebuilding, and testing propulsion systems and gearboxes, and will be able to complete technical reports for clients and interpret engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and lead maintenance and repairs on main propulsion systems, thrusters, and steering gear
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Dismantle, inspect, rebuild, and test propulsion systems and gearboxes
  • Complete technical reports for clients
  • Interpret engineering drawings
  • Prepare accurate spare parts lists
Requirements

The successful candidate will have a strong background in propulsion systems maintenance and repair, and will be able to work independently and as part of a team. They will also have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and will be able to travel around the UK and overseas when required.
