Position Overview
We are in search of a skilled Senior Applications Scientist to enhance our exceptional team dedicated to supporting the sales of LC and GC MS instruments across Europe. At the Waters European Demonstration Laboratory, our mission is to significantly contribute to business expansion by gaining a profound understanding of our clients' scientific challenges and delivering solutions through our leading-edge LC and GC MS technologies.
Located in our advanced demonstration facility, this role offers the chance to thrive in a dynamic environment, utilizing your expertise in LC and GC MS instrumentation across a diverse array of applications and sales support initiatives.
We seek a passionate and approachable scientist who will leverage their extensive background in the LC and GC MS domain to conduct sample analyses and demonstrations, aiding our clients in making informed decisions regarding their technological advancements. With ample opportunities for both internal and external collaboration, this position is fulfilling, varied, and supported by a wide network that includes Sales, Marketing, R&D, Product Development, and more.
There will be opportunities for travel to provide pre-sales support and to participate in relevant scientific conferences and marketing events throughout Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Extensive experience in LC coupled with HRMS for qualitative applications involving small molecules.
- Conduct instrument demonstrations and sample analyses in the laboratory as part of the sales process.
- Provide scientific guidance and support to enhance expertise within the Applications Laboratory and the sales/marketing organization.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of customers' scientific goals through collaboration while staying informed about industry trends to shape demo strategies.
- Assist in the introduction of key new technologies to the team and lead demonstrations for the field organization and our clients.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to support the EMEA marketing strategy as a subject matter expert, leading analytical projects with minimal supervision.
- Represent the company in digital marketing initiatives and external meetings, serving as a source of technical expertise to support company products and applications.
Qualifications
To excel as a Senior Applications Scientist at Waters, you should possess:
- A BSc Degree (or higher) in a scientific discipline and/or substantial industrial or academic experience.
- Significant expertise in LC and GC chromatography combined with mass spectrometry for both qualitative and quantitative applications involving small molecules.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort in presenting scientific information to diverse audiences.
- Experience in collaborative work to achieve common objectives.
- Able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
