We are seeking a highly skilled Behaviour Mentor to join our team at The Grange Therapeutic School. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of our students' behaviour and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Assist and manage the return of students to the classroom, ensuring a smooth transition and minimizing disruptions.
- Implement agreed strategies to manage and improve the behaviour of students, working closely with teaching staff and other support professionals.
- Monitor and analyze student behaviour using our online behaviour management system, identifying areas for improvement and developing targeted interventions.
- Provide on-call support to teaching staff, responding promptly to incidents and providing guidance on behaviour management.
- Liaise with teaching staff to support teaching and learning, ensuring that students are able to access the curriculum and make progress.
- Support students in following school rules and expectations, promoting positive behaviour and a safe learning environment.
- Assist in the organization of a rewards system for the school, encouraging student responsibility and promoting positive behaviour.
- Work with the Wellbeing Manager for Inclusion to develop and promote strategies to improve behaviour throughout the school.
- Coach students on how to manage their emotions and feelings, promoting self-regulation and self-management.
- GCSE C/4 or above in English and Maths or equivalent.
- Experience working with young people, particularly those with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
- Experience working in a challenging educational environment, with a proven track record of supporting students with complex needs.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
