Position Overview

Junior Cost Consultant

Location: West Sussex

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid model: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote)

Compensation: Up to £40,000 based on experience, plus vehicle allowance (driving is a requirement for this position)

Project Partners is seeking a dedicated Junior Cost Consultant to join our collaborative team in West Sussex. The primary objective of this role is to support the management of financial oversight concerning Direct Labour, Subcontractors, Equipment, Materials, Consumables, and Administrative expenses, as well as Project Valuation. This includes cost control, financial management, and the verification of progress data to ensure precise reporting to clients and central management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understanding and managing the respective rights and responsibilities under the primary contract and sub-contracts.
  • Maintaining accurate contract documentation.
  • Supporting the administration of subcontract payments, including negotiating variations and overseeing contra-charge accounts.
  • Gathering precise data for monthly cost/value reconciliations and contract evaluations.
  • Conducting audits, agreements, and reconciliations of measurements against documented actuals.
  • Generating weekly cost/value reports.
  • Assisting in the development of target costs.
  • Contributing to the creation of financial and statistical reports as needed.
  • Collaborating closely with operational and support teams.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or holding a Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with NEC 3 & 4 Contracts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel at an intermediate level.
  • Enthusiastic and committed to professional growth.
