As an Operational Technology (OT) Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the functionality of Shell's offshore operations, contributing to the energy supply essential for the UK. Collaborating closely with IT professionals, strategic partners, and technical staff, you will safeguard and enhance critical OT infrastructure across Shell's facilities.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will focus on integrating engineering and IT disciplines at Shell UK Exploration and Production (SUKEP) to fortify our operational IT and infrastructure.
- Develop a comprehensive technical understanding of SUKEP OT systems, while engaging with the business to implement system modifications, manage projects, and promote awareness of OT integrity standards and protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements for IT components within SUKEP's operational technology landscape, utilizing established procedures and practices.
- Partner with site personnel, project teams, and vendors to carry out assurance activities and project scopes, ensuring all information sources are accurately maintained.
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on OT-related matters.
- Operate with a high degree of independence, receiving regular support and mentorship from senior colleagues, and serve as a mentor for less experienced team members.
We are interested in candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- Experience in industrial automation and control systems.
- Proficiency in safely managing legacy network and MAC equipment.
- Certification as a Global Industrial Cybersecurity Professional (GICSP).
- Ability to function effectively without direct supervision in an operational offshore production setting, holding valid offshore working and medical certifications.
- Experience collaborating successfully with integrated service providers to achieve desired outcomes.
- Strong expertise in Windows operating systems.
- Solid background in cybersecurity practices.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain productive relationships.
- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with permit to work processes and systems.
- Hands-on experience delivering OT upgrades, such as DCS, PLCs, HMIs, with a focus on cybersecurity responsibilities.
