About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to lead the delivery of electronics projects at OPD. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of all electronics and embedded software components, developing proposals, and leading the technical direction of hardware developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the delivery of electronics and embedded software components
  • Develop proposals that accurately reflect the scope and requirements of hardware projects
  • Lead the technical direction of hardware developments on a wide range of projects
  • Manage subcontractor resources and relationships required for specialist development tasks
  • Collaborate with Design and Engineering team colleagues to develop innovative and effective solutions
Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience, preferably in a product design consultancy or similar industry
  • Experience with embedded systems design, microcontrollers, and firmware development
  • Proven track record of successfully managing hardware projects to completion
  • Knowledge of compliance and certification requirements for hardware products
  • Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
