About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our team at Travelers, where you will play a critical role in assessing and managing risk for our property and casualty business. As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating and pricing risks, developing and implementing underwriting strategies, and collaborating with our underwriting team to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate risks for property and casualty business, making informed decisions to maximize business growth and profitability.
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to achieve business objectives, working closely with our underwriting team and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with our underwriting team to ensure accurate and timely underwriting decisions, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and business growth.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and market developments, applying this knowledge to inform underwriting decisions and strategies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of underwriting policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in underwriting, with a strong understanding of property and casualty risks and underwriting principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex risks and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance regulations, laws, and industry standards, with the ability to apply this knowledge to inform underwriting decisions and strategies.
