About the Role:

RHL Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join our client's innovative fuel storage company. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing technical support, leadership, and guidance to projects, operations, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Authority: You will be responsible for the application of appropriate electrical engineering codes and standards, and management of any deviations from standards.
  • Electrical Equipment Management: You will be responsible for all electrical equipment/system performance standards.
  • Designated Electrical Competent Person: You will be designated as the Electrical Competent Person under the Electricity at Work Regulations.
  • Project Management: You will lead in the identification and scoping of projects and plant modifications.
  • Equipment Replacement: You will assure that equipment is prioritized for replacement based on maintenance records and known conditions.
  • Vendor Management: You will manage vendors and tenders, including responding to vendor clarifications/technical queries.
  • Regulatory Compliance: You will have a working knowledge of Regulations and Directives, including DSEAR (ATEX), EWR, EER, Machinery Directive, PUWER, COMAH, and CDM.
  • Code and Standard Knowledge: You will have a working knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including BS 7671 and BS EN 60079.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have a relevant degree in Electrical Engineering, CompEx Design (Ex12), parts A & B. Chartered or working towards chartership with significant electrical system design experience, load lists, SLDs, cable sizing, fault level, protection grading studies, and motor starting calculations. Lightning protection calculations. Specification of equipment for installation in Hazardous areas and have Risk Assessment, Site Commissioning, and Troubleshooting experience. Experience as designated competent person under Electricity at Work Regulations.
