Project Engineer - Governance

Salary:
£54,793-£60,326 (based on skills and experience)

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance components of the engineering operational framework and governance system, including policies and processes for the design and development phases of the program.
- Establish an internal assurance framework.
- Collaborate with the Airworthiness Team to facilitate design organization approvals and the assignment of technical roles.
- Serve as a primary contact for engineering governance between the joint business entity and the UK industry Lead Systems Integrator.
- Work closely with the COO Central Engineering Governance team to exchange best practices and provide support.
- Oversee a small team of engineers.

Required Skills and Experience:

Essential:
- Degree in a STEM field or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proven experience in Engineering Governance within Defence programs.
- Experience in developing and implementing engineering processes, tools, and methodologies that comply with governance requirements.
- Prior experience in managing a small team, including task management, performance evaluations, and talent development.

Desirable:
- Familiarity with engineering governance principles from at least two different domains.
- Experience collaborating with external customers (e.g., UK MOD).

About the FCAS Team:
- An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Project Engineer specializing in Engineering Governance to contribute to the Global Combat Air Programme/Future Combat Air System Acquisition Programme.

- Within the program integration team, you will support UK industry and international partners in the creation, development, and implementation of components of the Engineering Operating Framework and Governance System.


- The ideal candidate will be proactive, collaborative, and possess effective communication skills to influence and clarify Engineering Governance issues to both specialists and non-specialists.
