The Opportunity

As a Merchandising Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in assisting the Merchandiser and Junior Merchandisers in strategizing product assortments and formulating stock and sales projections to facilitate informed decision-making. This position requires a keen analysis of retail inventory and sales metrics to implement timely actions that enhance sales performance and profitability.

Working within the Merchandising team at Superdry offers a unique chance for Merchandising Support Specialists to elevate their capabilities, broaden their expertise, and gain diverse experiences. Our Merchandising teams are deeply engaged with the product development process, collaborating closely with the buying team to curate exceptional product assortments. In this role, you will assist in planning a global product range for both retail and e-commerce platforms, adapting strategies to suit various markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a detailed archive of relevant historical data to support trend analysis and forecasting.
  • Provide daily assistance to the Merchandiser, overseeing range management.
  • Update and sustain the WSSI to aid in departmental stock control.
  • Analyze weekly trading performance and recommend actionable strategies to enhance results.
  • Work towards managing your own segment within the department, under the guidance of a Junior Merchandiser or Merchandiser.
  • Identify and communicate any supply chain challenges to the Merchandisers through regular reviews of intake and commitments, while also being responsible for order placements.
  • Collaborate closely with the Branch Merchandising team to ensure the execution of planned ranges in stores.
  • Mentor and support the Merchandising Administration Assistants within the department.

Candidate Profile

  • Currently serving as a Merchandising Support Specialist, preferably with experience in a large fashion retail environment.
  • A confident communicator, skilled in engaging presentations and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and adept at managing large datasets, with strong numerical abilities.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Understanding of critical path management principles.
  • Self-driven and capable of independently managing multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Commercially aware with insights into customer demographics, product ranges, and competitive landscape.
  • Experienced in leading, developing, and managing team members.
  • Located within a reasonable commuting distance or open to relocation.
