Job Description

EdEx is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a mainstream secondary school in Wandsworth. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with various needs, including Speech and Language, Communication, Social, Autism (Verbal and Non-Verbal) needs, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with wide-ranging needs 1-2-1 and in small groups, inside and outside of the classrooms
  • Work closely with specialist Teachers, Therapists, and Psychologists to best support secondary-aged pupils with various needs
  • Take part and lead specialist interventions in areas such as Lego Therapy, Speech and Language, Zones of Regulation, and more
  • Receive training and support from day one, with no day being the same, working across Key Stage 3 - Key Stage 5
Requirements:
  • A graduate with a 1st Class or 2:1 degree from a reputable university
  • Good A-Levels and GCSEs, including English at GCSE
  • Previous experience supporting children, young people, or adolescents, essential
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with barriers to learning
  • An inquisitive, warm, and nurturing personality
  • Ability to speak confidently and calmly
