The Consortium SICOS, composed of Tractebel, Egis, and Setec, is responsible for the design and detailing of the reinforced concrete structures of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) Nuclear Power Plant, one of the world's largest construction projects.

HPC is set to be the benchmark for future construction of similar projects in the UK. This is a great opportunity to be exposed to the latest technology and digital construction methods with 3D BIM rebar modeling on a large industrial project.

Job Profile

We are looking for a motivated Civil Engineer to work on the design and construction of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) nuclear power plant.

As part of the Joint Design Office (JDO), your responsibilities will include managing and treating site change requests respecting the design intent, project specifications, and deadlines. You will support the Civil Team of the Nuclear Island in optimizing the design received from the Back office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and treat site change requests respecting the design intent, project specifications, and deadlines.
  • Support the Civil Team of the Nuclear Island in optimizing the design received from the Back office.
  • Coordinate with the drafting team managing the implementation of design modifications in 3D models and 2D drawings.
  • Assess the feasibility of Field Change Requests (FCR) from the site.
  • Communicate with the back-office team as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Civil or Structural Engineering degree with at least 3 years of proven experience in the field.
  • Reinforced concrete calculation and design experience.
  • Nuclear or complex industrial project experience.
  • Reinforced concrete detailing experience.
  • Self-motivated towards improving personal performance and able to generate innovative outcomes to challenges.
