Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate Forklifts Safely: Ensure the safe operation of forklifts to load, unload, and transport cargo within designated areas.
  • Ensure Cargo Security: Verify that all cargo is handled securely and in compliance with company and airport regulations.
  • Maintain Equipment: Conduct daily equipment checks and maintenance to ensure forklifts are in safe working condition.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Assist in the efficient handling and storage of cargo, ensuring timely movement and delivery.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety Regulations: Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all health and safety regulations and protocols.
  • Complete Documentation: Complete all necessary documentation and records accurately and on time.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Forklift License: A valid forklift operator license is required.
  • Work History: A minimum of 5 years of work history is required.
  • DBS Check: A clean Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is mandatory.
  • Experience: Previous experience operating forklifts, preferably in an airport or similar high-security environment.
  • Training: Must complete Cargo Operative Training before commencing employment.
Additional Information:
  • Shift Pattern: The role operates on a 4 on, 2 off shift pattern.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required.
