Band 6 Salary Range: £37,831 - £46,100 per annum
Additional Distant Island Allowance: £2,256 per annum

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Biomedical Scientist to enhance our multi-disciplinary Laboratory team at a leading healthcare facility in the UK. This role focuses on supporting the department in the ongoing Scottish National LIMS project as a specialist Biomedical Scientist for a fixed term until March 2026.
Our department is pioneering the implementation of Magentus Evolution LIMS in Scotland, providing a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to gain hands-on experience with this innovative system, which will be adopted by multiple Scottish health boards in the coming years. The role will allow you to leverage your scientific expertise while expanding your knowledge and skills in Laboratory IT systems.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with the documentation, validation, and verification of changes and updates to the LIMS.
- Conducting queries on laboratory data for statistical analysis, including workload and turnaround times.
- Managing change control and supporting the administration of laboratory information systems.
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual with proven expertise in your field. There may be opportunities for further training within a multidisciplinary environment, including participation in the on-call roster and laboratory-based shifts.
