We are seeking an exceptional leader with a passion for education and its continued improvement to join our team as a Director of Special School Improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of special education and strive for excellence in a rapidly changing landscape.
The successful candidate will have extensive SEND educational leadership experience and a knowledge and understanding of creating and maintaining outstanding special school practice. They will have a background as a Special School Headteacher and be likely to have been in a leadership role in an existing Multi Academy Trust.
As a key member of our team, the Director of Special School Improvement will lead special school improvement across our 5 special schools, as well as providing support, advice, and guidance to our mainstream schools and specialist provision hubs. They will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive excellence in special education and ensuring that our schools are achieving top quartile performance by 2026.

About Unity Schools Partnership
Unity Schools Partnership is a Multi Academy Trust with 39 schools and approval to open two further special schools and two primary schools in the near future. Our ambition is to achieve a step change in the quality of education provided by primary, secondary, and special schools.
What We Offer
- A competitive salary of £104,040 - £114,759 with extension to L37 for exceptional performance
- A full-time position with 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
- A permanent contract
