Job Title: Planning Manager/Lead P30 About the Role: As a key member of our Portfolio Office team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing effective planning strategies to drive business success. Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain project and programme planning capabilities within the Portfolio Office, ensuring best practice standards and tools are adopted.
  • Identify and lead the introduction of new planning processes, tools, and templates, leveraging industry standards as a benchmark.
  • Manage dependencies across the portfolio of work, ensuring seamless delivery.
  • Provide specialist planning advice and support to project and programme managers, ensuring successful delivery.
  • Analyse performance data, identifying areas for improvement and collaborating with stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Build and maintain external networks to access technical and professional best practice.
Requirements:
  • Substantial experience in leading planning for complex projects and programmes, with a proven track record of delivering associated artefacts.
  • Excellent knowledge of creating integrated master schedules across multiple projects and programmes.
  • Experience in identifying and managing pan-programme dependencies.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to drive best practice and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Adept at presenting insights and trends to various audiences.
  • Substantial experience using project schedule tools, preferably MS Project, and other MS tools.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Project/programme management qualification, such as PRINCE2 Practitioner or Agile Project Management Practitioner.
  • Experience working in Agile, hybrid, and waterfall project/programme delivery environments.
