Salary: £28,000 to £31,000 per annum (includes £2,000 Distant Islands Allowance)

The Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is seeking a dedicated Registration Officer to ensure the effective delivery of the Registration Service in compliance with the statutory requirements set forth by the Registrar General for Scotland. This role requires a professional, efficient, and compassionate approach to service delivery while collaborating with various Council Services and external partners.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Registering vital events such as births, still-births, deaths, marriages, and civil partnerships.
• Conducting Civil Marriage and Civil Partnership ceremonies at designated locations.
• Assisting with the administrative tasks related to Citizenship ceremonies.
• Producing accurate copies of registered certificates.

The ideal candidate will exhibit a caring and empathetic demeanor towards service users. Proven experience in administration, record management, and handling communications in an office setting is essential. A qualification in standard grade English and Mathematics or an equivalent is required.

A Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are mandatory for this position.

The salary for this role includes the Distant Islands Allowance, and appointments will be made at the initial point of the salary scale.
