Position Overview
The role involves the critical assessment and agreement of overarching electrical requirements, ensuring their testability is established.
It requires the analysis and conversion of high-level requirements into a validated design for electrical systems or components.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying applicable design constraints and quality attributes that are relevant to the system or component.
- Documenting requirements and constraints in accordance with project processes for effective management of interfaces and requirements, particularly using IBM DOORS.
- Creating and executing electrical designs that fulfill specified design inputs.
- Collaborating with the Verification team to outline verification activities.
- Conducting analyses of electrical designs for functional performance, which may involve modeling and simulation to ensure compliance with high-level requirements.
- Developing and reviewing electrical tests that provide evidence of compliance with electrical requirements.
- Engaging in capacity planning and contributing to the establishment of long-term strategic objectives for the team, in collaboration with management.
- Identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Formulating, documenting, and maintaining necessary policies, procedures, guidelines, tools, and training materials.
- Acquiring knowledge to offer support and guidance to project teams and integrated product teams (IPT).
- Representing the electrical engineering domain in various meetings, working groups, and integrated project teams as required.
- Collaborating across power station engineering teams to promote standardization and a commoditized approach to system and component development.
- Ensuring quality is upheld throughout the project lifecycle by conducting appropriate technical reviews and providing essential electrical engineering insights during project technical review gates.
- Engaging in discussions regarding electrical system design with external entities, including regulatory bodies, potential clients, and suppliers.
