As the largest Trust in the UK, Barts Health is devoted to training Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians annually, offering substantial opportunities for successful candidates to advance in their Pharmacy Technician careers. You will play a vital role in enhancing their skills and ensuring compliance with the necessary criteria for the Pre Reg Trainee Pharmacy Technician position.
Candidates must possess a BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences / NVQ Level 3 or an equivalent qualification, be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), hold an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) certification, and have experience in management or leadership roles.
Previous experience in either Hospital or Community Pharmacy settings is essential.
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assist in managing a team of pharmacy assistants and trainee pharmacy assistants, delivering patient-centered, high-quality care.
To ensure that patient needs are prioritized, the role will involve transitioning from traditional dispensary and medicines management service models to a more integrated approach, utilizing skills and knowledge from both areas to form a multi-skilled team in all aspects of pharmacy service delivery. This includes collaborative work on the wards to provide quality patient care through effective medicines optimization, as well as supporting the management of the dispensary on a rotational basis.
