We are seeking a highly skilled Ecologist to join our team at Neo Environmental Ltd, a leading planning and environmental consultancy. As an Ecologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients in the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct ecological surveys, including Phase 1 habitat surveys, protected species scoping surveys, and bat surveys.
- Produce comprehensive reports, including preliminary ecological appraisals, ecological impact assessments, EIA chapters, biodiversity management plans, and protected species reports.
- Liaise with clients and statutory consultees to ensure effective project delivery.
- Attend client and site meetings to discuss project progress and requirements.
- Undertake ECoW roles as required.
Requirements:
- Degree in ecology or a related field.
- Significant professional report writing experience.
- Good knowledge of ecological legislation and regulations.
- Experience of Phase 1 habitat surveys.
- Technically competent and able to work independently.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to travel across the UK, with occasional overnight stays.
- Full driving license and own transport.
Desirable Criteria:
- CIEEM accreditation.
- Demonstrable postgraduate experience in ecology surveys.
- Ornithology experience.
- Bat survey experience.
- GWDTE experience.
- Ecological Clerks of Works (ECoW) experience.
- Knowledge or experience using ArcGIS or similar.
- Other protected species survey experience.
