Job Description

**Job Title:** Mechanical Engineer - Equipment Specialist

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Perenco. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to ensure the reliability, availability, and operability of our mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and support to various departments, including Operations, Maintenance, Projects, Metering, and Integrity.
  • Assist in the elimination of mechanically-related production losses by measuring equipment performance, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing cost-beneficial initiatives.
  • Help deliver PUK maintenance strategy and policies, prescribing equipment-specific routines and procedures.
  • Monitor maintenance requirements and effectiveness, and help minimize mechanical maintenance backlogs and interventions.
  • Specify, cost-analyze, and procure replacement equipment in a timely manner, ensuring PUK specifications and legislative requirements are met.
  • Complete required documentation and assurance systems, such as work planning, change management applications, and equipment documentation databases.
  • Manage costs by controlling spends with third-party vendors and promoting a 'cost-challenge' culture to secure value and cost-effectiveness from suppliers and contractors.
  • Utilize an electronic maintenance system, such as Maximo, to manage equipment and maintenance activities.
  • Carry out site assurance surveys at onshore and offshore sites.
  • Provide technical training and guidance to technicians and new recruits.

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree-qualified or HNC/HND with at least 8-10 years' experience in the oil and gas offshore industry or other highly regulated industries.
  • Detailed operational knowledge of oil and gas industry mechanical equipment and a sound knowledge of engineering, maintenance, and planning.
  • Able to give timely guidance to management on the history and health of equipment, predicting, planning, and budgeting for major costs and outages.
  • Diligent, hard-working, team player able to solicit help and cooperation from junior and senior colleagues, impartial and supportive of change.
  • Understanding of specifying equipment for use in hazardous areas.
  • Understanding of Management of Change processes and its importance within an organization.
